Matt Howard, Founder and CEO

As founder and CEO, Matt Howard has led SMBLive's rapid evolution from start-up to a leading provider of social networking software solutions to broadband service providers. Under Matt's leadership, the company developed its Iamfound product offerings and launched distribution with multiple global channel partners. Matt previously served as Vice President of Business Development and SMB Sales at Groove Networks (acquired by Microsoft in March 2005), and as Vice President of Marketing & Business Development at USinternetworking. Matt earned his master's degree in telecommunications administration from George Mason University and his bachelor's degree in political communications from The George Washington University.


Alex Hawkinson, Founder and Chairman

Alex is an SMBLive co-founder and chairman of the board. Alex currently serves as CEO of Mural Ventures. Alex was previously CEO of Apptix, a global publicly traded software company and the world's largest SaaS Hosted Exchange provider. Prior to Apptix, Alex was Chief Operating Officer of TeleComputing's U.S. operations, a multinational IT outsourcing service provider. Before joining TeleComputing, Alex was the Executive Vice President and General Manager of HostOne, a multinational application hosting and managed services business. Alex earned his Master of Science degree from Carnegie Mellon University.


Peter Palmieri, VP of Engineering & Operations

Peter is the VP of Engineering and Operations for SMBLive, where he has overall responsibility for software development, hosting and data center operations, and customer support. Prior to joining SMBLive, Peter was co-founder and executive vice president of development for expensewatch.com, a leading SaaS expense control solution, where he was instrumental in developing the technology and building the company. Before co-founding expensewatch.com, Peter developed information technology solutions in the publishing and retail industries, and in academia. Peter has a BA from Dickinson College.


Walter Pinson, Chief Software Architect

Walter is SMBLive's Chief Software Architect. For the past 18 years, he has been architecting, designing, and developing sophisticated software systems across a broad range of industries. Prior to joining SMBLive, Walter was co-founder and President of Pinson3 Systems, a boutique systems integrator. Before that, Walter was an Enterprise Strategy Consultant at Microsoft, working with large telecommunications companies to identify, architect, and design high-impact business solutions. Prior to Microsoft, Walter was a Senior Manager of Platform Architecture at HostOne. Walter earned his bachelor's degree in Computer Science from George Mason University.


Andrew Brooks, Founder and VP of Business Development

As co-founder and Vice President of Business Development, Andrew is responsible for global sales, marketing, and partnerships. Andrew has more than 10 years experience leading services, software sales, and marketing organizations for start-ups and Fortune 500 companies. Prior to co-founding SMBLive, Andrew had global responsibility for managed services solutions, marketing positioning, field enablement and sales operations for Sun Microsystems' Managed Operations Services. Prior to Sun, Andrew was Director of Sales at SevenSpace, responsible for channel sales and marketing invigoration for NTT, Verio, XO Communications and AT&T. Andrew earned his bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Environmental Science from Princeton University.


Matt Soska, CFO

Matt is SMBLive's Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining SMBLive, Matt was CFO of Apptix. Prior to Apptix, Matt was Vice President of Operations of TeleComputing's U.S. operations, a multinational IT outsourcing service provider. Prior to joining TeleComputing, Matt was the Vice President of Business Operations and Technology Services of HostOne, a multinational application hosting and managed services business. Matt also served as Program Director at Aspen Systems, a large Federal IT consulting firm recently acquired by Lockheed Martin. Matt earned his bachelor's degree from St Joseph's University and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business.


Andrew Grant, Director of Program Management

Andrew has more than 10 years of information technology program management experience, delivering quality hardware infrastructure and software solutions to both SMB and enterprise customers. Before joining SMBlive, Andrew was Program Manager at Apptix, the world's largest SaaS Hosted Exchange provider. Prior to Apptix, Andrew was employed by APX UK Limited, building a secure Microsoft Hosted Exchange offering for British Telecommunications plc. For five years before joining APX UK Limited, Andrew was Technical Director at Capsoft UK Limited, providing document automation solutions to law firms in the UK, Australia, Hong Kong and New Zealand. Andrew earned his master's degree in Russian from the University of St. Andrews.
